RE: 2004 Nissan Xterra Stock Stereo Replacement Options...?

Any suggestions on a replacement head unit for a 2004 Nissan Xterra SE?

Stock unit is the "Rockford Fosgate" in-dash SIX (6) compact disc/ AM/FM stereo found in 2000-2004 Xterra SUVs & Frontier Trucks. 

1) I would like to keep the full functionality of the left-side steering wheel controls. I assume this is only an option with an ADDITIONAL aftermarket install: < pac-audio.com >

2) I would also like to fill the entire stock unit area - which allows for a larger touch/ video screen.

Can you suggest any products I can focus on?

I would suggest the JVC 740 or, if you want to go even larger, the Pioneer 4300DVD with the 7" screen.

Use the the Nissan Multi kit 84-7417 from Metra.

For the steeing wheel functionality:

- SWI RC steeing wheel interface

- PP SWI programmer

Both from PAC.
