Typically most laptops do not come with any sort of word processing software. I have seen some HP models that come with a year of office 365 but it's literally been like 2 models.
You can always get Open Office which is a free program with document/spreadsheet and presentation file creation capabilities. However, for the laptop you mentioned there are a few things I just want to point out.
While it will do the job, ChromeOS only allows you to get programs from the app store, in this case it will have 'quick office' and will allow you to create documents. Though I personally do not advocate for Chromebooks due to their lack of flexibility outside of Internet based tasks they are a good device for their particular purpose.
Best of luck in your search.

Open office would be a good cheap option for word documents.
Depending on your employer, see if they are part of the microsoft Home use Program, and you can get microsoft office for really cheap
