Trade-In

I was on Best Buy web site and saw a deal for trade in 2 games for $60 gift card. I found two games from the list that I had and then drove to Best Buy store. When I got there they had changed the list and would not accept my games. It was on the same day I saw the list and they not only refused to help, I was treated very rudely.

I had a similar experience yesterday. The fact that BestBuy.ca and Best Buy brick and mortar locations have two separate lists is quite fustrating. Although in the end they honored my trade ins because they were still clearly listed on the website, it still wasted 30 minutes of my time.

 

The list shown here clearly states Trade 2, Get $60 Gift Card: See all eligible titles.

 

When trying to trade in Pokemon White and Modern Warfare 3, they told me that the list shown on the site was simply a list stating ALL the games Best Buy accepts as trade in and that some of them were not eligible. If I had not persisted, customer service would have not given me what was promised online.

This kind of thing is common and is frustrating on both ends. They give us a list, and post a seperate one online. Personally I've just started checking the website if its not on my list, and if it's there I am obligated to honour the deal. If you have issues, ask to speak to a manager, if it's advertised we have to honour it!

I did ask to speak to a Manager but the supervisor claimed she was in charge and also refused to honor it. I will be returning my playstation 3 to the store soon and purchasing it and all my electronic needs elsewhere if my issue does not get resolved.
