I would be the perfect candidate for the Windows 8 test pilot program because I am a windows user, and i use my computer every single day for school. I am not only interested in the software which I'm more than assured that it is going to be state of the art, but I am also looking for physical factors such as design and weight. I carry my laptop everyday to school and I currently use a windows vista, which is quite heavier than the newer windows 7 ultrabook or laptops. I don't have enough money at the moment to purchase a windows 7, let alone the new windows 8 that will be out soon, so I think that if I am chosen it will be a priveledge. I use programs such as autocadd for architecture and I need a faster computer.

I use my computer for architecture and engeneering programs, web surfing, downloading music and movies.

I use windows vista

Hi Plug In,

I have used Windows all my life and I'm currently using Windows 7.  I think I would be a perfect candidate to test drive Windows 8 because I am on my computer (honestly?) more than I should be.  One of the main reasons I love computers is because i love to explore all the little nooks and crannies of the operating system and discover all the cool features.  I think I would be a perfect candidate because I would be able to give lots of very accurate feedback on more than just the basic, main features.  I am constantly roaming around my computer trying to discover and rediscover all the little things; whether they be flaws, or just really cool features.  I think I am a perfect candidate because as well as being able to give specific, unbiased feedback, I would be able to improve Windows 8.  No, I am not a computer programmer or computer expert, but if I may say so myself, I'm very good with them.  Unlike others who just want a new computer, I actually look forward to reviewing the software and thoroughly exploring it.  I'm very excited for Windows 8!

Thanks,

Kieran

I think I will be the winner of this contest -not only the perfect candidate- because I am from those lucky generations who have used most - if not all - of the previous windows systems: beginning with "Windows 3.1" till the newest son " Windows 7".

I am a PhD student, so what I do for living is research then research then research. I use very sophisticated mathematical programming environments (IBM ILOG Optimization Studio) and advanced solvers (CPLEX, MINOS, BONMIN), which need enormous amounts of CPU power and very high memory requirements. The HP Envy 4 TouchSmart UltraBook coupled with the expected powerful "Windows 8" will be my best friend for my work. I will be able to assess the ability, stability and crush rate of "Windows 8" to deal with heavy industrial mathematical applications coupled with the powerful HP UltraBook.

Finally:

  • The majority of my time I use my computer for practical industrial and very highly mathematical PhD research, coupled with very extensive web search.
  • My current Operating System is Windows 7 Professional (Service Pack 1).

I would love to be a part of this windows 8 testing program!  Trying out new products in the field of computers is definately my greatest hobby.  Being a student in university, the majority of time I use my computer for is educational purposes.  Features on windows such as office have almost become a natural part of my daily routine. There is nothing more exciting then opening up a new device and being able to test out the new features.  I'm also the go to guy in my close knit circle of friends and family when it comes to technology, so this would be a great way for me to test out this new windows and spread the word around! My current operating system is windows 7. Thanks for your time and good luck to everyone who entered!

I'd be a perfect candidate because I've been using Windows since 3.1 and can pretty much get around most problems with Windows when it comes to something not functioning right or software having compatibility issues.. I am a power user as well as a casual user. I can see the benefits and downfalls for both the professional and power user as well as for the casual user who only uses the computer for basic functions. I have been fiddling with Windows 8 since March, so I have gotten my feet wet, but haven't been able to try everything the final OS will be capable of, specifically the touch capabilities. And with a a family of four, I have a full range of users from the experienced to the novice, so a perpspective from the range of users could be obtained in my house.

  • The majority of time I use my computer for bfor video editing, web development/design, and surfing around the web.
  • My current Operating System is Windows 8 Release Preview (64-bit operating system).

An (almost) perfect candidate to review WIndows 8 via emoticons!

Cat Happy I have been using a Mac for the past 2 years and a pc for over 10+ years. Since I have experienced the latest

of what apple has had to offer, I think it's a good time for windows to show me what I have been missing with

                    windows 8!

Cat LOL I will be able to compare Windows 8 to the older windows 7, Xp, etc based on my past experience. I still remember the days of the dot matrix printerSmiley Very Happy

Woman Mad Like any sane person, I live and breathe technology. I practically live on my computer (I use it for art, I use it

for wasting time, I use it for ideas, I use it to keep my tummy warm, I use it as a night light, and I use it for

spacing out).  My laptop is my bestfriend, even though I've dropped it a few times.. But my laptop wouldn't  be the same if the Operating system wasn't buttery smooth (I often get really fustrated with the mac os, but that is another story)

Smiley Wink I will be reviewing this through two eyes: the eye of the youthful Experienced

beholder(me), and through the eyes of the inexperienced non-tech savvy user (my mom) Smiley Happy

Cat Surprised I will infuse humour, wit, and amusement into my reviews since there are too many tech reviews that can

put you to sleep; most repeat what is on the box (tech specs). And if the jokes are not funny, I will throw in

the occasional *awkward.............pause* into the mixSmiley Happy

Heart I love to rant. Ranting is my thing. I rant about: movies, games, tv, music, tech,etc. I believe someone who can rant

about little things is someone who really deconstructs, analyzes, and pays attention to all minor details that others

may have missed. I also ask A LOT of questions.  If I have the resources, I will hunt for the answers (I

have yet to answer the illusive mystery of how milking was truly discovered *scratches chin)

Cat LOLI have always wanted to do tech reviews. I have a fetish for reviews (living digitally vicariously). I watch reviews on

the net all the time, but

even when a review is incredibly informative, not all my questions are answered and thus, I end up watching 10

more reviews on the exact same thing....my questions have become "rhetorical" at this point (no answers....)

Robot tongueWhat I would like to focus on is: the user's experience, practical use in certain environments

(home, office, on the go, in a park, on a box with a fox with green eggs and ham, etc), applications (hard core

gaming? Internet, email, etc), what makes this  appealing over another other oS, and How might windows 8 translate to a touchscreen oriented

                       device?

Smiley Embarassed I never win anything (I enter a lot of contests), so if I can win and then pay back my win through a few

good reviews, I think that's a fair trade, no?Smiley Happy

Robot Very Happy all joking aside, I can also be incredibly professional, mature, and eloquent with my writing upon

request. However, I believe that reviews should be spiced up with pizzazz or at least have a sprinkle of

excitement to entice readers to, well, read Smiley Happy

  • The majority of time I use my computer for: graphic/illustration/design, quenching my thirst for stupidity and entertainment (youtube, netflix, etc), playing point and click games, social media, and the mighty method of taking notes and writing essays.
  • My current Operating System is OSx 10.8.2 lion

Thank you for your time!!!

Why would I be the perfect candidate for your Windows 8 test pilot program?

  • The majority of time I use my computer is a split between work and leisure.  I'm a Financial Analyst, so I'm always using a whole plethora of different applications and researching on the internet.  I am however, a tech geek, and it's a huge hobby of mine.  For leisure, I enjoy testing out new gadgets and playing games on my computer at home.
  • My current Operating System is Windows 7 on both my work laptop and my home desktop.  I was a lucky enough to win a Windows 7 Ultimate edition from Microsoft before it was released to the public and I'm hoping to try my lucky again here!

As a Sales professional for a print manufacturing company in Ontario - I rely on a windows computer to keep in touch with our customers/clients, along with maintaining sales efforts for the company.  I use Microsoft Office products on a daily basis - mainly Exchange/Outlook, Word, and Excel and utilize my Android smartphone to receive emails after hours to respond to our customers in a quick manner.

I am also responsible for updates to our company website, along with posting to several social media sites for our company to maintain a strong web presence/visibility in the hopes of adding additional sales to our company.

In the printing industry we have multiple Mac computers along with PCs, and I'm familiar with both platforms.

I believe I would be able to give great feedback and put Windows 8 through its paces and give my thoughts on how it works with a business perpective in mind. With my travels for business - I rely on my laptop and smartphone to stay connected to what is happening in the office and also respond quickly to any emails I may get while I'm away from the office.

In my off time - I use my PC computer mainly to view/edit various pictures from family trips. I have thousands of pictures - mainly because I have a new daughter (just turned 1 this October). I've installed my own IP camera that I use as a baby monitor and set it up so I can also log into the ip cam and see my daughter in her crib from my smartphone.

I follow many forums to keep up to speed on current technology trends (mainly things on Android, computer hardware (eg. SSD drives) and SEO for websites) but if I do find some spare time, I like to play a few games here and there along with tinker with my laptop. I've upgraded my ram to the max 8 gigs it can take, upgraded the cpu, along with upgrade my main OS drive to an SSD to reduce boot times and increase overall speed.

I'd welcome an opportunity to throughly test Windows 8 as our company is at a cross roads - invest in more PCs or change over everyone to Macs. It would be great to test the latest and greatest Microsoft has to offer.

Why I'd be the perfect Windows 8 Testing Candidate

I'd be the perfect candidate to test out Windows 8 as I do loads of normal day-to-day stuff like email, web surfing, playing online and PC games, and tons of photo editing / publishing.  I've got a lot of photos and music files that I need to manage and keep organized.  I use my PC @ home, and on the road, and integrate it will my mobile devices.  I've used computers for years, and my friends, family and neigbours come to me for their PC help and input on what they need to buy when upgrading.

  • The majority of time I use my computer for Web, email, games, and photo editing & publishing.
  • My current Operating System is Windows 7.

Reasons why I could be the perfect candidate for the Windows 8 test pilot program:

- I am a bit younger than middle-aged single mother with teenagers and laptops around the house, utilizing Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and spend probably way too much time on my laptop alone, add in when my kids are doing their thing on their laptops, time spent is way above average.

- I am brutally honest and speak my mind

- Taught myself everything I know about operating systems, how to speed them up, format, utilize all features.

If you pick me as one of the 4, you will not regret it and I would be eternally grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something of this magnitude  Woman Very Happy

You want an average, ordinary jane to test these products.  I'd be the perfect candidate to test Windows 8 and the HP Envy 4.  I'm not a computer expert, but have enought tech savy to start a blog and jump hoops in the social media circus.  Add to that being a busy mom, Preschool Teacher, and recently enrolled in college courses distance-ed style. I've been considering a laptop to help me keep up with my online assignments and my blog between shifts at work. I honestly don't know what operation sysytem I have right now, but microsoft office 2003 is on my desktop. This opp would be of great interest to my 2000+ blog followers and would make my life a lot better.

  • The majority of time I use my computer for: connecting with long-distance friends and family, college courses, and social media addiction.
  • My current Operating System is: ??  I would gladly walk away from it with a sleek HP Envy in my hand and the new Windows 8 to test drive.

I am the perfect candidate for Best Buy's Windows 8 test pilot program:

As a Windows user from the earliest versions (I have been a PC person since the mid-1980s, starting with MS-DOS on an Osborne 1B "portable" computer) and always upgrading at the earliest possible opportunity, I have seen the best and worst the operating system has to offer. The new features offered in Windows 8 are exciting, and I can hardly wait to see how the impact they will have on my computing experience, both for work and personal use.

As a freelance journalist, I can readily translate my experiences with Windows 8 into easy-to-understand articles. My daily use of Windows for work, together with my many years as family computing columnist for a parenting publication, including reviewing numerous software packages including the various Windows versions and updates, provides a strong basis for assessing Windows 8 and explaining what it offers for families and business users alike.

I am also a loyal Best Buy customer and Best Buy Reward Zone member.

The majority of time I use my computer for work, although it's a mix of paid and unpaid work. In addition to my journalism day job, I use my computer for paid and volunteer work as a soccer coach,

My current Operating System is Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.

I could argue that I deserve to win this contest because of the Windows horrors I have endured over the years, including more "blue screens of death" than I care to remember. But I share that experience with millions of others, and there have also been lengthy periods of joy, including with Windows 7, so I will let my qualifications speak for themselves.

  My e-mail address is peter_menyasz@rogers.com.

Thank you very much for your consideration!

I would be the perfect candidate for the Windows 8 test pilot project because I am a Windows enthusiast who has been using Windows for year. When all of my friends got caught up in the Apple hype, I stayed on with Windows/Microsoft, which many people thought strange given my age as most younger people have be swayed by the Apple advertising. My familiarity with the other Windows versions will help me to evaluate Windows 8 clearly. I experienced Vista in all its bugs and eventually had to downgrade back to XP. I owned 95 for years before XP, but sadly missed 98 (although I have used it before at school), and Windows 7 has been the most user friendly version yet. I have been extremely excited for the launch of Windows 8 for quite some time now, and I look forward to seeing if it is as user friendly and modern as the advertising makes it out to be.

The majority of the time I use my computer for word/data processing and surfing the internet; whether it be for work, school, or pleasure. I work full time and am a part time distance student at a local university, so I am constantly on the computer. I also use my computer to watch both DVDs and blue rays, which has been much clearer and smoother with the upgrade to Windows 7’s 64 bit version, as compared to my old downgraded 32 bit Windows XP. My current operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium with a 64 bit opperating system, which I purchased it the week it came out.

Why you would be the perfect candidate for our Windows 8 test pilot program?

Because I am a student. I can test the speed and perfoemance of the new Winws 8 OS all around the college campus, and stress test its capabilities after class by multi-tasking work with entertainment. I am also a computer science major and have experience testing out new equipment and services.

The majority of time I use my computer for everything! Playing games, doing school work, coding websites, watching videos, listening to music, banking, and much more.
My current Operating System on my three PCs are; one with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, one with Windows 7 Professional 32-bit, and one with Windows XP.

I'm Your Candidate To Test Out The New Windows 8 Software!

Hi! Im Trista! Like my duck face?!

I will tell you why Im your perfect candidate

Iam very critical when it comes to tesing new products, either for work or pleasure. I dont beat around the bush, i tell it how it is, and I know people who read my reviews will appreciate that and have appreciated it.

Im an intermediate computer geek, dont let my looks fool you! I know how to use a computer! I have used several different operating systems including linux, but windows is my favorite overall. Why? because its one of the most universal platforms out there, its like speaking english. Its professional, yet fun, unique, with a twist of modern. I really would be tickled pink to review this, as you can tell by my entry that I'm very excited to test this beast out and let everyone know how great it is.

  • The majority of time I use my computer for: work, web design, and socializing (blogs, reading, forums, shopping online etc)
  • My current Operating System is: Windows 7

Thanks!!!

Goodluck Everyone!!

I strongly feel the world is ready for a good refresh in the computer world. The new mobile operating systems have introduced new needs amongst consumers. Needs that traditional PC operating systems are not delivering. Im extremely excited to see and experience first hand all the new features of Windows 8. For all my life I was a Windows user. Up until exactly 1 year ago when I purchased my first Macbook pro. Even though there are may things of Mac OS that I've come to love Im 100% ready to be loured back to my roots.

I am extremely knowledgeable in new OS for every platform. My current role is managing an ad agency where we focus the vast majority of our work on mobile app development. I own every single mobile device in the market including iOS devices, Android devices, Symbian, Blackberry and WP7.5 devices and not because I want to gain points but because it's the truth my personal phone, ever since I first got to play with it is a Lumia 900. If Windows can replicate that experience on PC and tablets then I will switch back instantly.

I can promise one thing. I will be as thorough and impartial as possible. I'll test as many features as I can and provide neutral real comments to make consumers more informed.

I'd love to get my hands on HO Envy 4 of course, but mostly I would love to be able to inform consumers and point them in the right direction when making their next purchase.

I have used Windows all my life. However, for the past 3 years, I have been using a Mac (my current OS is Lion) although I still use a family member's PC on occasion. I can say that I love the Mac user interface better than a PC's. I find Macs more user-friendly than a PC. I spend most of the time on the Internet but I also like playing games, which is a horrible experience on a Mac. Which is why I would like to test out Windows 8. I am planning to buy a new Windows laptop for gaming. I would like to test out how the user experience holds up against OS X(10.6 and above) and Windows 7. The new interface for Windows 8 seems gimmicky. At first glance, I would not want such a PC to be my gaming laptop, or even my general laptop. The tablet-y feel does not seem right (although I know Apple is going in that direction for their future operating systems too). I want to be proven wrong. I used to be anti-Mac before I got my first Macbook but I love it now. I hope I could say the same for Windows 8.

I would be the best candidate to test Windows 8 because I have been working as an IT Analyst for the past several years and have been supporting Windows based systems for about 8 years. I spend most of my work time providing support both in person and remotely to clients using Windows based systems. I am always up for testing new OS's and Windows 8 would be awesome to test and review.

I spend the majority of my time using my computer for photo editing and web browsing.

My current Operating System is Windows 7 Ultimate.

I would really appreciate the opportunity to test and provide reviews for the OS. It would be so much fun to be on the front line for this.

Thanks for you consideration

I am the perfect candidate for your Windows 8 Test pilot program because I have been using computers since we had to punch cards, I have been using Microsoft since DOS, I currently use Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. I use spreadsheets since Lotus 1-2-3, I use word processors since WordStar was the leading word processor...

I used to work with Autocad Version 2.6 in DOS, I currently use Autocad 2013 in Windows...

The majority of the time I use my computer for managing projects in a manufacturing environment.

My current Operating System is Windows Vista. I enjoy working with computers and testing Windows 8 will be a very pleasing experience. Thanks for choosing me!

Being a Windows 8 test pilot would showcase my natural abilities to provide constructive input to help guide development.  The opportunity to push the limits of technology and help guide others in decision making processes is something I enjoy.   I Love to try out new products, and learn how things work.  I am the first person my friends and family turn to for advice on the latest technology.

The majority of the time I use my computer for organizing my life; from MSOffice to IE to Outlook and more...  I spend my days working from a home office multitasking with several programs and browsers.

I am involved with social media and love to express my opinions on products I buy, whether it is a product from a local store to a major retailer.

My attitude is: Let’s just push the button and see what happens!!Smiley Wink

I am currently in school for web design and I am in need of a really good laptop that can handle all adobe software, as well as with excellent audio and video.

I have been using windows software since I was a child, and have always enjoyed it's interface and easy navigation. I am very interested in trying windows 8 and see how far its has come since windows 95. As well as finding out how much I can do and achive with this new operating system!

I have been looking for a new laptop to relpace my sony vaio that is starting to run out of steam but do not have the funds. I was looking into getting a macbook for the future but I am really interested in getting a hp book, I like the model designs and I have researched the HP Envy, it looks like a great candidate for replacing my old computer. I like the beats audo feature (I love to listen to music while I work) and its strong capability to handle graphics. I also really love the touch screen aspect, as I do not want to own a tablet, but would like to have some of those features on my laptop. I hope I am a good candidate, as I am in the process of launching a career in design, and would love a device that can help me acheive my goals and my dreams!

I would be the perfect candidate for the windows 8 pilot program because I love to take pictures and have always been interested in perfecting them on a computer with the proper programs. My current operating system is windows xp though at times my computer does not work as well as it once did. Windows 8 would blast me into the present and future of computers since things have changed dramatically. The majority of time I use my computer for editing pictures, playing games, connecting with friends and using the many programs such as publisher, etc to create projects. I would love the opportunity to review the windows 8 program to help other consumers consider buying it and having a new computer would be so great giving me greater success in doing what I like to do. Why would I be the perfect candidate to test out the Windows 8 test pilot program? I think the better question is, why wouldn't I be the perfect candidate? I'm the most perfect candidate that you can ask for -- in fact, it would be insane not to select me as a candidate. Here’s why:

I’m a 5’8”Asian guy named Carl. From that you can already tell I’m fit enough for the job. I’m not some Llama with a hat; I’m this perfect cool guy who could fix any problem. Got a broken computer? Give it to me and I’ll fix it. Broke your glasses? Give it to me, I’ll tape that right up until you get a new pair. Got a broken heart? Be with me and you’ll never be brokenhearted ever again. I’m just that awesome.

I use the computer to become A COMPLETE BADASS. As a computer programming student you KNOW that I’m DEAD SERIOUS about computers. Test-drive Windows 8 now? I’LL MAKE WINDOWS 11. Hell, I’m pretty sure my future self built a time machine, went back in time, built Windows 8 and equipped it with all kinds of badassery from my endless source of AWESOME. I’m not sure you can get more awesome that that.

BUT with me there’s NO LIMIT to awesome. My current Operating System is 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. My mere proximity to it is enough grounds to rename it Windows 21. A 3x generation leap? NOT A PROBLEM WITH CARL BY YOUR SIDE. If you look up Carl in the dictionary you wouldn’t find it… BECAUSE IT’S IN A SEPARATE DICTIONARY DEDICATED JUST TO CARL.

So, why should I be chosen to be in the Windows 8 test pilot program?

-          My name is Carl. CARL.

-          I’m the coolest guy you’ll ever meet. I’m the reason we have winter in the first place.

-          I’m not just a computer guy, I’m the computer guy.

-          I love sunsets and long walks on the beach.

I look forward to your decision.

-          CARL

I'm a new business owner with a pretty old PC laptop (from 2008) that is starting to show the signs of time.I am just opening my company which is going to be a new innovative online portal and there's nothing better to help me on my way then a new laptop that comes with windows 8.

  • The majority of time I use my computer for software development (.Net and PHP), working on my business as I am opening my new online portal and surfing the net (mostly for research).
  • My current Operating System is both OSX and windows 7 (I have 2 laptops, one of which is a mac, the other is a sony Vaio).

Please choose me, and by doing so you will also be helping me with opening my new business.

Thanks,

Hello, I'm Noah and I believe I should be the test candidate to test the  HP Envy 4 Touchsmart Ultrabook with windows 8 equipped.

I use my laptop quite heavily for gaming and academic work. All my time on my laptop occurs after school hours.(Pm) That is why I know I have plenty of time to explore every nook and cranny of the new operating system. I've owned Windows 7 Home Premium for three years now with my HP Pavilion dm4 laptop. Thus, I am very familiar with HP laptops and the Windows operating system. Previous to Windows 7 I have also owned the Windows XP operating system.

In all, I would enjoy testing out Windows 8 and fiddling around with the new laptop.

I mainly use my computer for gaming and academic activities. (Homework, coding/programming, Photoshop)

My current operating system is Windows 7.

Savy electronics. Top of the line software. Myself.

I'd fit perfectly into what you are looking for. I'm a 4th year university student at UBC with years of experience in playing around with the latest gadgets. I can firmly understand what's at hand not only because of my age, but because of my education. School has developed my ability to critically understand material and express it with words. That's what a good review is all about isn't it? The user must be able to distinguish both minor and major details and provide a thorough and concise analysis. I am definitely up for the task.

Like many young adults my age, I spend numerous hours on the computer with a balance of social media and work altogether. I carry my current laptop on a daily basis and access it whenever I can through Windows 7 Operating system for labwork, reading materials, simple data entry, and emailing. Oh of course, I sneak in a bit of facebook, twitter, instagram, music...you name it! I am pratically handcuffed to a computer of some sort most of the time.

With such unintentional dedication to computers, I really do feel that I would be the perfect candidate for your Windows 8 test pilot program. I'll provide nothing short of excellent reviews on this matter! You can count on it!

I have worked in retail sales over 3 years overseeing a solution selling model based environment where finding the right solotion will always ensure the customer is happy. Apart from that i work for a higher education institution assisting and solving student technical problems. Having a Windows 8 laptop and combining my exposure and commonly used solution based skills has helped me to advise students, faculty and staff on their personal computer purchases.

I use the majority of my computer to take hand written notes on my Windows 7 convertable ThinkPad tablet using Microsoft Office OneNote in combination with Evernote.

I also have a Mac, but it doesnt have OneNote, so i have it just to make sure i can still help the Mac folks Smiley Very Happy

On a side note, will you be carrying the ThinkPad Tablet 2 with Win 8? That would be the best tool for school, hands down!

The majority of time, I use my computer to browse the internet, view, stream and download music and videos, create slideshows, spreadsheets, and word documents and for homework, which includes programming and using virtual circuit design programs. I also regularly edit videos, pictures, and audio, as well as create computer generated images.

My current OS is a Mac OS X lion for general use such as updating agendas and internet browsing. However, I use Windows 7 for academic purposes and prefer this operating system for many of my image editing and computer image creations.

I believe I am a perfect candidate for this test pilot program because I will be using the Windows 8 operating system to accomplish a wide range of tasks and evaluate the system to see how it handles each task and whether it makes the programs convenient and easy to use. I believe that my reviews will be helpful to a wide variety of computer users since I won’t be focusing on how well the operating system functions in just one area of use. I will be reviewing the system for engineers, students, parents, teachers, and people involved in business. As an Electronics Engineering student, I will do my best to show the techies how well Windows 8 performed without my review being subject to the bias of the hardware’s specifications.

This would be a great opportunity to be part of your test program and grow my knowledge as I prepare to enter the field of technology. I use a computer at school right now for 4-5 hours a day and then come home and use my desktop and laptop for at least another 2-4 hours. I spend that time reading newspapers, doing a little blogging, doing lots of research on a variety of subjects from travel to sports to the most up to date electronics. As an compTIA A+ Certified Tech I feel it's my responsibility to keep up to date on new technologies and I know that being a tester for Windows 8 test pilot program will allow me to do that.

I enjoy being one of the first in my group of friends to have the newest technology, and advising friends and family on what i have experienced that is both good and bad.

I am most definetly a tech savvy individual and have been using a computer of some sort since I started playing on my dads Commador 64 and Vic 20. I am most definetly stoked about the release of Windows 8 and I am considering getting it for all my computers in my home.  I know I would be a good reviewer for the Windows 8 system. I am currently taking network engineering in school and am fully versed in my current OS of Windows 7. I have windows 8 installed in a virtual enviroment right now which I use to try and get used to it because i know eventually that it will be used in the field. My family and friends are always calling on me to help them with their problems. I use my computer for School Work, Reaserch, Games, Photo and Video editing. I am always looking forward and for ways to improove my knowledge. I use Windows 7 currently and Windows Vista on another computer and I would love to be able to test WINDOWS 8.

I am a visual effects artist who mixes technical skill with artistic skill.  That means I use my computer for a wide range of programs depending on whether I am trying to code some Python or be artistic in Photoshop.  I often like to mix and match both, like developing Python scripts while working in Nuke (compositing software).

I spend most of my life on a computer; 10 hours at work and then another 4 or so hours a night and all weekend on my own computer.

  • The majority of time I use my computer for is working on my own film projects, effects, coding, and writing screenplays.  However, the most important use of my time is taking avantage of being connected to the world.  I'm originally from Scotland but have been living in Vancouver, BC for a while.  My computer is my gateway to Scotland; keeping me in touch with my family back home and all the friends that, thanks to the internet, I haven't left behind.

The progression in technology from when I was a young child to where it is today fascinates me, and that is what keeps me so interested in updates and advances in the technical field.  I've been with every Windows update since 3.1!  However, unlike most, I am able to compare Operating Systems.  At work, I often use Linux machines as well as Windows.  I've also played around with Ubuntu, so I'm aware of the differences as well as the pros and cons of each operating system, even Mac OS - although I mostly avoid using Macs as much as I can through personal preference.

  • My current Operating System for my home PC is Windows 7 Ultimate x64. For the most part I use Linux at work these days.  It all just depends on the studio I work for.

With my wide range of requirements for computer use, I would be a perfect candidate for really pushing Windows 8 to its limits; to find every positive while remaining objective and acknowledging potential issues, e.g. addressing the Start Menu controversy.  I've already played around with the pre-release version and I'm keen to see Windows 8's full potential and I hope I get the opportunity to assist Best Buy in helping consumers make an informed decision on an upgrade.

  • The majority of time I use my computer for work, browsing, word processing, games, multimedia and editing.

I would be the perfect candidate to test Windows 8 because I myself am perfect. I have a few computers running Windows 8 professional already as well as others running windows 7. This allows me to give you a more informed review spanning from the improvements made from previous windows to the learning curves and changes made on the latest one. I also have android devices as well as apple products, which makes me informed enough to tell you what WIndows 8 does better than others and what needs improvement.

I really don't need the HP envy since I already puchased a lenovo X1 carbon ultrabook, so bias is non-existent as my review will solely be on Windows 8 functionaily and not an excuse just to get a free laptop.

Hello,

I would be a great candidate to test and provide an unbiased review of Windows 8.  I have been using computers since age 9, beginning with early versions of Microsoft's MS-DOS products.  I have worked with every Home version of Microsoft Windows since version 3.0, as well as a number of Server versions.  My home computer usage is primarily for Social networking, gaming, video editing and online research, in addition to work related tasks. I have held Microsoft certifications and taught computer courses.  I am approached on a daily basis to provide honest advice to others (family, friends and coworkers) regarding their potential technology purchases.  I have been told numerous times that my ability to skip the technical jargon and explain concepts in an easy to understand manner is appreciated.

My primary home computer is currently configured to dual boot: Windows 7 Professional and Windows 8 RTM.  I would love the opportunity to experience the "Windows 8 user interface" (formerly Metro UI) on a touchscreen monitor. Tomorrow, I have the opportunity to visit the Microsoft Redmond Campus.  I hope to catch a glimpse of the new Surface tablet running Windows RT.  Thank you for your consideration.  This would be a wonderful opportunity that I would truly enjoy!

I would be the best candidate to test  pilot program. first, I follow the latest news about technology around the world (Us, Canada, Europe, Taiwan, China, Japan, etc) every day, almost every few hours, I learn everything about it if I can. Second reason is everytime my family or friends about technology, they come to me, because i fix it for them, i also give some advice. I remenber once, my new friends told me and my friend, Alex, he phone is strange, Alex just tell him to come to me, I can fix it. The third reason is that although I might be to young because I'm only 16, but I think this is the best why should be the one to test it out, there are many people testing windows 8 around the world, but they're all adults! I never heared of a teen that this so crazy about computers and technology. I also can give out different opions, evey time I look at reviews, I get disappointed because they always how good it is for work or things adul do, but no one ever give opion for teen user or kid users. So I can be the one that help younger people. These are the reasons why I am the best.

  • The majority of time I use my computer for: school, games, videos, photo editing, learing about technology. ( I want to be graphic designer so I work with many progarms, if this helps)
  • My current Operating System is: Mac ( I don't like mac, and I am eager to swich to windows, I have mac because my older school I went to before requires every student must has a macbook, because they work with Apple. But I installed windows xp before.)
  • I used Window 1998 (199* sorry too long before so I forgot what is the number), windows 2000, windows xp, windows vista, windows 2007, mac os x 10.5, and android 2.3,3.0, 4.0

I think this is a great opportunity for me to test it out, and thi will give a chance to let all teeanage to get to know more about what they want.

Thank you.

Why I would be the perfect candidate to be part of your Windows 8 test pilot program:

  • The majority of time I use my computer forMajority of the time, you'd find me playing online games such as Battlefield 3 or Guildwars 2. And while I am at work, I use it for data entry and invoicing. But with my other time, I use it to teach seniors on how to use their computer. There are many users out there who are computer illiterate. Many users who are also afraid of change! That is when they need a good review on the operating system which will guide them through it. If I'm chosen, it would be a great opportunity for me to show the advantages of using windows 8 to the ones I teach. And while writing the review, basic computer vocabulary is needed in order for people who don't understand difficult computer vocabulary, which will scare them away..
  • My current Operating System is: windows 7 professional 64bit

I would love to be part of the testing team! Plus, my laptop recently died Smiley Sad

I am the perfect candidate for this test pilot program because I am familiar and comfortable using computers for both work and play. Plus, I have experience in reviewing products/services and writing about my experiences in blogging format and in reports.

During the day, I use the computer to work as technogeek providing IT support in a call centre environment. I also spend lots of time using social media, (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest). I have been using computers for longer than I care to admit right from the DOS/floppy disk days. I have also spent time teaching/training others on computers and providing techical support to nonprofit groups.

  • The majority of time I use my computer for work/writing/research/personal entertainment/DIY
  • My current Operating System is Windows XP/Vista/Server depending on which computer/laptop I am using

I would really enjoy this opportunity!

why you would be the perfect candidate for our Windows 8 test pilot program? I am not the biggest Windows fan, however I have used it since Windows 3.0. Back in the days of Dr.DOS another Windows like software came up which was much better in terms of speed and interface. MSDOS did not support that software thus its death. While Windows has majority of the market it still can't compete with Apple in handling graphics. Even with the release of I5, I7 etc. Windows will only ran fast for a time and would suffer the slowdown its previous versions are known for. XP which is a combination of 98 Interface and stability of NT was a very good release, Vista is plagued with problems thus corporates never really adopted it. Windows 7 is also a good release but I am still waiting for the one that would really take Windows above the Mac in terms of stability, speed and handling graphics and videos, maybe Windows 8 is the one we'll have to see.     The majority of time I use my computer, for business as a technical writer, leisure and gaming while at home, communication to my love ones, and to handle my bills as I do everything online. My current Operating System is A mix of Windows 7, Windows XP Professional and I still have Windows 98.

  • My current Operating System is Vista, have used Windows 7; but have been using WIndows since its Windows 3 days and DOS 2 and 3 before it; I think I would make a great test pilot......Smiley Happy

I would love to be a Windows 8 tester. Right now I have windows XP on my laptop and I use my computer about 4 hours per day. I would represent the older user to see if is user friendly for people who are not computer nerds but like to surf and do stuff on their computers. Thanks for considering me. I am over 55 and have been using computers since I took a correspondence course that included basic programming in Dos way back when computers were in black and white and my boos had one of the first Apple all in ones with the square floppy disks.

I have been using Windows since it's early days of Windows 95 and now use Windows 7on both of our computers, for the most part use my computer for personal use and for the last couple of years my wife has been using it for her home based business. We have used all programs in Windows 7 and would love the oppurtunity to test and give feedback on the new Windows 8 OS.

I would be a perfect candidate to test Windows 8 since I been a long time user of windows operating systems both at work and at home.   I am a average computer user that loves new technology.

1).   The majority of time I use my computer both for work and at home.

2).   My current operating system at work is Windows 7 and at home Windows XP.

I use my computer for anything from research to gaming. I have been providing computer support since 1980 and have enjoyed the advancements in the operating systems... or at least enjoyed them when there were actual advances. I am highly opinionated and enjoy digging to find answers. I often use remote assistance to provide support to friends around the world. My current Operating System is Windows 7, both pro and home premium. I have enjoyed using dos 2.1, windows 3.11, windows 98, windows XP, and windows 7. I have disliked windows 3.0/3.1, windows me, windows 2000, and vista. I have also been aquainted with several variants of linux, and apple o/s systems.
