If you are a music lover like myself, then you most definitely appreciate great sound quality. Sennheiser is known to deliver some of the best headphones on the market and the RS 160’s do not disappoint.
At first, I looked at the price tag and thought to myself I would never spend $300 on a pair of headphones. I was perfectly content with my twenty-dollar ear buds. My view was further cemented when I tried the headphones out. They were good, but I didn’t think they were that much better than my ear buds and they most certainly were not a justifiable purchase for that amount.
However, it wasn’t until I put my ear buds back in that I realized the true difference. It was like a sonic spiritual awakening. The bass, the vocals, the beat and clarity just were not there without the Sennheisers. Quality headphones amplify small details that you never knew existed; the artists go through the trouble of making masterpieces, the least we can do is listen to their songs how they were intended to be heard. I ditched the ear buds and went back to the RS 160’s and haven’t looked back since!
What sets this particular set of headphones apart from others is that it utilizes radio frequency transmission so you enjoy your tunes wirelessly. All you have to do is plug your music source into a compact and portable transmitter and you’re set. The range is up to twenty metres, you stay connected flawlessly no matter where you are. Wires are a thing of the past, it's time to switch over and embrace music without shackles. Also, you can connect up to four pairs to the same transmitter so you and your friends can all enjoy the same music without anyone feeling left out.
The headset runs on two AAA rechargeable batteries with up to twenty-four hours of play time and 120 hours of standby life. The soft headphone cups snugly hug your ears and create an isolated barrier from the outside world. Additionally, you can use controls located on the right headphone to manage your volume level, track skip/rewind and mute function.
If you’re looking to invest in a proper set of headphones, you will not be disappointed with the RS 160’s. Your music will come alive and you will fall in love again with the old classics in your collection.
