My culinary adventures continue this week with the Breville Slow Cooker; to my amazement I’ve found yet another kitchen appliance that rings true on its promise of delivering a savory dish to the dinner table without hours spent slaving in the kitchen. If all I ever did with the FUJIFILM XF1 camera was put it on my shelf for display and never shot a single photo, I’d still be pretty happy with it. One look at the leather bound case and I immediately thought of rich, mahogany libraries full of books and an old typewriter – The design is just that luxurious.
But just looking at the FUJIFILM XF1 would be an exercise in self-deprivation, because it can shoot some seriously amazing images. Complete with an ultra-fast FUJINON F1.8 wide-angle lens, it has 4x manual zoom reaching f/1.8 at its widest angle.

When you think about it, Canada really is a mecca for extreme sports. You can hike up mountains, scream down large jumps on your bike, jump into deep, dark oceans, or ski and snowboard through powder so intense you have to see it to believe it. I’m always amazed at how technology can change – not just for things like computers and phones, but for other household items you use every day. Take razors for example. The latest and greatest hair removal options on the market definitely aren’t based on your Grandpa’s razor. Sleek, smooth, and oh so easy to use, razors today harness the latest in cordless, comfortable, pain-free technology.
Another smartphone and another mystery.
No one is sure what the new Windows Phone 8 will look like – the unveiling is scheduled for “sometime end of October.” But there have been enough leaks to hint at a phone that will be radically different from the current Windows Phone 7.8.
