McAfee Mobile Security offers peace of mind

by ShelaghM on ‎11-16-2012 02:37 AM - last edited on ‎02-19-2013 03:52 PM by Epic Genius

When losing your smartphone has more consequences than losing your wallet, mobile security makes sense. It's become even more crucial now that spyware, viruses and phishing schemes have made it onto our smartphones.

If we were just chatting on the phones, these invaders would be mild nuisances. But as we spend more time on our smartphones – banking, shopping, sending emails and generally downloading our entire lives – these unwelcome visitors are dangerous. They leave us vulnerable to cyber criminals.

by Blogger on ‎11-14-2012 07:30 PM - last edited on ‎11-15-2012 09:29 AM by Blogger

The laundry might not be able to do itself (although we’ve come a long way since hand wringing), the stove can’t quite cook you dinner yet, but there is one task that’s completely automated if you’re armed with the right tool – The iRobot Roomba Robotic Vacuum completely automates one of the most tedious parts of house cleaning – Vacuuming those floors!

A cylinder disk that glides across the floor, the Roomba picks up all of your dirt, dust bunnies, and even pet dander wherever it lands. It works on carpet and hardwood, and automatically adjusts to each surface so you don’t have to do a thing when it’s rolling around.

Let me tell you a story. It’s a tale of two friends, Bob and Bill, who both purchased an iPhone on the same day. Bob decided to invest in a nifty little case with a protective cover for the screen; Bill did not.  Fast-forward two years - after comparing both phones, the benefit of investing in a proper phone case is quite clear.

Gifts for the Wanna Be Chef under $150

by TechLinz The Captain on ‎11-12-2012 09:26 PM - last edited on ‎11-01-2013 09:02 AM by Community Manager

I’m not really a marvel in the kitchen, and definitely would never label myself as a foodie.  So when it comes to food I’m all about consumption, not so much preparation.  While I do enjoy dabbling in the kitchen, it’s my guy who can whip up a meal like nobody's business. With that said, buying for a novice chef is time well spent. I’m all about strategically equipping him with the proper tools so that he can keep me fuelled.

Fuji's New X-E1 - a Compact Camera with Everything

by Blogger on ‎11-11-2012 09:52 PM - last edited on ‎11-22-2012 05:33 PM by Blogger

Early this year Fuji launched the X-Pro1, which is a very high-end camera that was targeted at professionals and very keen enthusiasts – and the X-Pro1 was very well received! Fuji recently launched the X-E1, which now appeals to a much wider audience since it has adopted the best features of the X-Pro1 in a smaller and more affordable compact camera system. The X-E1 is easier to use, easier to carry around, and will produce pictures of very similar quality as the X-Pro1 - but at a much lower price.

Dinner Party 101 with Tannex Dining Wear

by TechLinz The Captain ‎11-11-2012 08:15 PM - edited ‎11-13-2012 09:28 PM

Tis’ the season for friends and family to come together and enjoy all the holidays have to offer.  Even though cooking is not my passion, I do enjoy hosting a good party. If you have a house full of people to entertain don’t fall short serving them with chipped or mismatched table wear.  Thinking back to the first time I ever hosted a dinner party, I had everything planned and ready to go weeks before the actual party. I was hoping to impress the guests and be the “Hostess with the Mostest”.

Everything was coming together until I realized that the yummy bits I was serving were going to be plated on my old tableware and even, dare I admit it, the baking sheet they came out of the oven on.  Martha Stewart would have probably died there on the spot if she were on the guest list.
