So far I am aware that you need some type of desktop to update a iPad with a new OS as it will use iTunes either via MAC or PC software to act as a middleman when installing the update, and be able to restore or correct any failures. As for a service offered by Best Buy. While not a specified service offered to my knowledge or any set price, I don't see a reason why Geek Squad would not be able to do this for you for a specific fee or something of that sort. I know we would be able to in our store. I would suggest bringing our iPad to your local Best Buy and speaking with a Geek Squad Agent or the Manager on Duty to see what could be done. After all its not like you need our iPad taken apart! ![]()

I think the new iOS has potential to become better if you want to use iOS 6 as a kind of feel threw then go for it but if its down to usefulness you may want to wait.
