Re: difference between 4k and led hd

Hi there, 4k is a resolution. How many pixels vertically x horizontally on a given display, this applies to TVs, laptops, monitors, cellphones etc. The more pixels there are, typically the nicer the image looks.

LED is a type of light emitting technology, using light emitting diodes.

Most high end TVs nowadays are both 4k and LED.

Once you get a 4K tv... look to see if your cable provider, as well as the competition, offers 4K service to fully enjoy that 4K TV.

Hi @JanePelton Smiley Happy , As @Computers_Mike pointed out it's a matter of significantly increased resolution {detail}, by making smaller LCD pixels and allowing more of them on the screen, so in essence 1080p is 1920x1080 LCD pixels, and 4K is 3840x2160 LCD pixels in the same area. in essence, you can get really close to the 4K screen without noticing the pixels that make up the picture.

Also as noted, the LED is a type of light needed to use as "backlight" for the LCD type screen, whereas Plasma and OLED TV's are naturally self lighting and emit their own light.

This article on the Best Buy Plug-In Blog, might shed more light.
