I tried the 3DS out this past Saturday at the Burlington Best Buy. I felt kind of bad as my Son was not with me at the time. Although I was quite impressed with the 3D aspect of it, I wasn't as blown away by the 3D as I had expected to be.
Pilot Wings Resort was the game on display. The Plane was quite detailed and definitely stood out in 3D, however the rest of the scenery didn't really appear very 3D unless you flew fairly close to the islands or land. The Menu and Setting Options stood out quite well on the 3D display.
The "Circle Pad" controller worked quite well, and I was impressed with how much travel it actually had considering it is not very tall. I'm eager to see the software that comes out for the 3DS, but at this time I won't be getting one. We already have a PSP, DS Lite (purchased on launch day) and two iPod Touches, so our handheld gaming device quota is pretty well met at this time.

Can't argue with that assesment mate! In my opinion the 3DS is a great piece of technology, but their launch titles were lacking a little bit which somewhat surprised me. The game that I wished was the live demo at launch and now was Mortal Combat, that was just a fun and cool one to play with in 3D! The Ghost Recon is also pretty neat if you ever get a chance to play with it!
Personally I still think its going to be a little while before the price of the device drops a little, maybe $50 or so and more high end titles are released for it before it gets some real traction. But it really is just SO much fun to play with!

I tried it out a few days ago at the downsview location. I was impressed with the 3D effect, but I was playing a lot with the slider as I did feel a headache coming on lol. The game on display was Pilotwings. Not a game I would buy for $40, I think it would have been nice to have this as a pack in with the game.
Overall the launch is very weak and mostly filled with ports of old games.
