Re: What would be a reasonable priced laptop that would work with the game Planet coaster

Hi there,

wow this game reminds me of Roller Coaster Tycoon from the early 2000s ah the nostalgia.

Looking up the system requriements here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/493340/Planet_Coaster/

they are actually quite high, surprisingly. The recommended processor is an i7 with a GTX980 graphics card which are very highend.

Without breaking the bank, and playing well i would suggest something like this. While it is a Geek Squad Certified Open Box item, it meets all the requirements and doesn't totally break the bank, not to mention the game should run quite well on this system.

You can probably get away with something like this, but for the couple hundred extra I'd say the laptop mentioned above is worth the difference. Personally, I have never been a fan of ULV (ultra low voltage) processors on laptops, as that tends to be the current trend. While excellent for battery life, performance is sacrificed. I am sure the difference has gotten less over the years and will continue to improve, but thats my own opinion.

One final note, in the event you are still doing some more shopping don't get caught up in how many gigabytes of system ram there is, or how much memory the graphics card has - they are not all created equal. There are many other factors to take into consideration.

Happy shopping.

I would agree with @Computers_Mike recommendation of the Asus Open box it looks like a good machine and you aren't going to find a "gaming' laptop much cheaper
